As from the topic of Living in Thailand, now, there is part two as follows:

Non-immigrant visa, valid for 12 months with multiple-entry

Apart from the extension of stay at immigration, this visa is providing the way to have a long stay in the country whereby you may need to exit and enter (cross-border) at least every 90 days to get a new entry stamp in order to obtain a further 90 days to stay in the country.

Your best choice is to obtain a non-immigrant visa, valid for 12 months with multiple-entry from your home country before arrived Thailand. This is because you will properly NOT get this type of visa in neighboring countries of Thailand.

However, Thai Consulates in US, Europe and Australia seem to be the most generous. Especially, the Royal Thai Consulates in Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne Australia issue this visa, currently.
